Spaces of stillness
Stillness is part of the journey.
Each day begins quietly, our philosophy a simple calm-abiding practice creates a moment to arrive before the journey continues. In the evening, we make space for reflection. Along the way, certain landscapes, monasteries, gardens and remote places become our Spaces of Stillness, moments where nothing needs to happen.
No previous meditation experience is required only curiosity.

Our way of travelling
Travel less. Experience more deeply.
We believe meaningful travel begins when there is enough time to notice.
Slow Travel
We stay longer.
Awareness
We move less.
Local Connection
We meet the people.
Regenerative
We support communities.
Local encounters
Places become meaningful through people.
A winemaker opening the doors of a family cellar, a farmer explaining the land, a cook preparing something that has belonged to the region for generations, an artisan sharing a craft that might otherwise disappear.
These encounters are not additions to our itineraries, they are part of the journey itself.

Our Regenerative Approach
Travel should leave something meaningful behind.
We deliberately operate outside peak season, keep our groups small and work wherever possible with independent local businesses, producers and community initiatives.
Each journey also contributes to our wider commitment to positive impact, including support for a selected nonprofit partner aligned with our environmental and social values. For us, regeneration begins with attention: understanding where we travel, who benefits from our presence and how tourism can contribute rather than simply consume.
Our commitments in practice
Responsible travel shapes how we design every Be Local journey — from our maximum group size of eight travellers to the businesses we work with and our €50 Impact Contribution per guest.
A Community Built Around Meaningful Travel
Be Local exists because of the people who open their landscapes, knowledge and communities to us.
