Why Be Local Exists
Be Local story began with a growing feeling that travel had become increasingly good at showing us places and increasingly poor at allowing us to experience them.
There is time to walk.
Time to listen.
Time to share a table.
Time simply to be.
We wanted to move in the opposite direction. To create small journeys where landscape, people and silence are given enough time to matter, where local relationships are not packaged as attractions.
And where returning home slightly changed matters more than returning home having seen everything, that idea became Be Local.

David Harisiadis, Be Local Founder
After more than two decades working across hospitality, tourism and international operations, David created Be Local around a different idea of what a meaningful journey could be.
Years spent living, working and travelling across different cultures gradually shifted his attention away from conventional tourism and towards smaller experiences built around people, place and presence.
Be Local brings those worlds together: hospitality, local knowledge, slow travel and contemplative practice.
David remains personally involved in developing every journey and in shaping the philosophy behind the experiences alongside Be Local’s growing network of local Journey Hosts.

Be Local journeys welcome between three and eight guests.
Intimate Groups (3-5 Guests)
The journey is generally led by the founder or a member of the Be Local core team, supported by local specialists along the way.
Larger Groups (6-8 Guests)
A dedicated local Journey Host accompanies the experience from beginning to end.
Journey Hosts are selected not simply for what they know about a destination, but for how they listen, welcome, communicate and create connection.
